T.A.E.I.L. is a pre-registration Canadian not-for-profit building an ecosystem for the living: empowering people to reflect honestly on their lives, celebrate personal milestones, plan their future paths, and learn with compassion from the lives, achievements, and mistakes of those who came before.
The central conviction is simple: facing mortality should not trap us in sorrow—it should awaken us to live consciously, deeply, and well.
What T.A.E.I.L. Is
T.A.E.I.L. is what social media and community platforms should have been: a calm, dignified digital sanctuary built around what actually matters, governed for human care rather than algorithmic extraction, and designed with personal wellbeing at its core.

- The bereaved — people who need a respectful, unhurried space to remember, grieve, celebrate a loved one's unique life, and find others who understand.
- People who want to leave love behind intentionally — individuals who wish to pre-record milestone messages, practical guidance, and after-death care for the people they cherish.
- People who care how organisations are run — citizens seeking living proof that an enterprise can operate with open pay caps, living-wage guarantees, and radical transparency.
What Members Will Be Able To Do
Members will have access to dedicated personal and family spaces on our sensitive member platform (taeil.life):
Sanctuary — A Living Compass
A private personal space built by the living, for the living. It is a quiet place to reflect on your journey, celebrate personal milestones, clarify core values, and consciously plan your future life path. An optional living obituary acts as a personal North Star for everyday choices.
Memorial — Remembrance & Mentorship
A lasting space honouring someone who has passed away, designed to support the living. Alongside treasured memories, it offers descendants, children, and friends a thoughtful place to reflect on a loved one's whole life with honesty and compassion: their achievements, virtues, resilience, struggles, mistakes, and shortcomings.
Cherished Moments
Attach annual recurring celebrations to precious memories so joy is relived every year, rather than faded by time.
Message from the Afterlife
Pre-record personal video, voice, or written messages scheduled for release to loved ones on significant future milestone dates (graduations, weddings, births).
When the Time Comes & Passing Notification Network
Prepare practical instructions, funeral wishes, and key documents in advance, paired with automated gentle notifications that relieve newly bereaved families of traumatic logistical guesswork.
Future Community Access & Shared Reflections
T.A.E.I.L. is also planning a future authenticated community layer on taeilcommunity.org, separate from these sensitive personal services:
- Visitors will be able to explore public information, guides, learning resources, and reflections explicitly approved for public visibility without an account.
- Users will be verified adult community participants, able to participate in discussion forums, Shared Reflections, request-and-accept messaging, Circle of Care mutual-care groups, privacy-led people discovery, and our verified Garage Sale used-item listing space.
- Members will be verified Users with an active membership entitlement, entitled to all community features plus the private personal services on taeil.life.
Identity verification supports mutual accountability without making anyone’s legal name public (chosen display names are standard). Privacy-led discoverability defaults to Invisible, and finding someone in search, reading a public reflection, or sharing a group never grants access to another person’s private Sanctuary or Memorial.
None of these account, community, or member-service systems currently exist. They will open only after the required safeguarding, privacy, legal, and technical foundations are in place.
Why It Is Different
T.A.E.I.L. is being designed as a permanently not-for-profit, mission-protected enterprise with no shareholders, no equity investors, no dividends, and no conventional startup exit.
A Canadian Not-for-Profit, Deliberately Not a Charity
T.A.E.I.L. is choosing to operate as a Canadian federal non-profit under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA) without seeking CRA registered-charity status. This is a deliberate institutional choice: it demonstrates that an organisation can care seriously for society and provide essential public benefit without relying on tax deductions to justify its existence. Membership is an honest social contract of belonging and mutual service.
Membership That Anyone Can Afford
Standard membership is planned around an accessible floor of CAD $12 a year — just CAD $1 a month — because access to self-reflection, remembrance, and caring community must never be reserved only for those with wealth.
Running T.A.E.I.L. responsibly requires real resources: secure hosting, independent safeguarding, professional moderation, and fair compensation. Alongside our floor price, we commit to publishing our estimated real cost per member openly across our scale curve.
If you choose a voluntary higher tier, you purchase no extra governance rights or special privileges; your generosity directly subsidizes membership for someone who cannot afford the full cost on their own.
What T.A.E.I.L. Believes
- Life before sorrow — we build for the living; memory should empower intentional living today.
- Community before profit — service to human beings always takes precedence over revenue.
- Safeguarding before growth — we would rather delay launch than open an unsafe system.
- Transparency before polish — open pay ratios, published cost-per-member curves, and honest accounting.
- Compassionate realism — embracing the full truth of human lives, celebrating triumphs while learning honestly from mistakes.
- Fair, dignified compensation — every worker earns a living wage; leadership pay is strictly capped to Canadian non-profit benchmarks with zero equity or bonuses.
Safeguarding Comes First
T.A.E.I.L. will not open to Members, Users, or any authenticated community feature until safeguarding foundations are in place. That includes independent expert oversight, child-protection protocols, crisis signposting, and escalation paths.
Current Public Status
T.A.E.I.L. is currently in a pre-registration, pre-incorporation, and pre-launch build phase, with its confirmed legal home in Canada.
T.A.E.I.L. exists to help people live with deep intention, celebrate what matters, learn from those who came before, and carry love forward without facing mortality alone.
